Endless Ocean: Luminous Speculation Thread
I've been rewatching the trailer as much as I can to glean any hidden information, and I've come to the following conclusions:
-The game will likely have a multiplayer focus given how much they emphasized it. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but I hope the singleplayer experience is just as exciting
-There will likely be little to no plot. I could be wrong, but at the moment I believe that Endless Ocean: Luminous will not follow in Blue World's footsteps and give us a massive globetrotting adventure. It's clear they're going for something more like the first game, so maybe expect a pretty rudimentary story if anything.
-Dangerous creatures are not present. If you look at the game's ESRB rating, you'll notice it's "E" like the fir…
What Creatures Would You Like To See In Endless Ocean: Luminous?
Given that Endless Ocean: Luminous will have ~200 new species, what would you most like to see? Here are a few I would love:
More octopus variety: The first two games only had one species of octopus, which is a huge shame given their incredible diversity. Mimic, blue ringed and giant pacific octopus would all be amazing to see ingame.
Shrimp: There really weren't as many shrimp in the last two as I would have liked, I only recall the goby shrimp off the top of my head. A peacock mantis shrimp would look absolutely fabulous!
Freshwater species: This is the thing I think is least likely, but it would be really neat if they ended up doing it. The only freshwater species we've seen were in the Cortica River in Blue World, and I would love to see…
Endless Ocean Luminous
Well, here we are, all these years later! I first joined the Wiki team when the site was mostly abandoned, a disorganized mess only tended to by passionate fans with little support and no central community for everyone to chat, and six years later there's a new game on the way, the Wiki looks and reads better than it ever has before, and we have a huge, wonderful community of amazing fans both casual and dedicated stripping and enjoying the games to the max.
It's absolutely crazy, and thank you all for your continued support and use of the Wiki over the years. With a new game on the way, we on the editing team are going to be as hard at work as we can in our respective free time(s) to prepare this Wiki for the new game and the influx of people …
Has anyone ever actually seen "ML" - Matthias Louvier/Rouvier? If so, how?
Hi there!
Has anyone ever gotten to meet this fabled ML from Fragments of Memory in the game?
Also, feel free to share any tips for taking A-grade photos for the photo requests.

Several years ago, I began creating a concept for an expansion of the basic idea of Endless Ocean to include another of my passions, prehistoric life. While I still am quite fond of my initial creation, I have gotten much better at writing and presentation over the last few years and believe it’s time to usher in a new and improved presentation of my prehistoric maps.
In the usual way of Endless Ocean, the map takes liberties to include more interesting fauna, and each will include elements from multiple fossil sites. There is also a curiosity baked into the nature of these sites that I have not found a way …
Pacific Ocean
The pacific ocean is full of animals of the sea that are from the same sea, such as great white, sharks, tiger, sharks, Mako, sharks, dolphins, and others
Sea otters
I’ve been playing endless ocean for quite a while, but never have I encountered an otter. They’re said to be floating around the boat but I’ve no luck finding them. Any tips?

Comparing old and new models/textures for animals
Here I will be comparing and evaluating the model changes that occurred between EO and EOBW for animals that recieved them.
Lined Surgeonfish
I forgot this was an animal in EO1 honestly. It went through a pretty drastic change for the better to become one of my favorite fish after seeing it in EO2. It's much better and actually brings to mind the animal they were trying to make. It's possible that I saw the first one and didn't associate it with the one in the second game because the patterning is just almost invisible there. I honestly didn't think there was that much of an improvement between any two models before actually looking into this, but there you go.
Clown Wrasse
As you can see, the adult clown wrasse turned from a weird pickle look…
Minor emulator troubleshooting notes
There are some common small problems that I run into when playing Endless Ocean and Blue World on Dolphin, but I have fixes for a handful of them.
- If all of your photographs come out black: Go to "hacks", and uncheck "store EFB copies to texture only". This can be turned on and off during gameplay; turning it on will likely cause a frame rate decrease, and might interfere with your adjustments to the speed of your emulation
- If your game crashes upon taking a request on Nineball Island: Don't mess with the graphics settings before you take requests especially the aforementioned EFB/texture thing. It can... sometimes maybe be avoided this by using the "reset" option under the "emulator" heading at the top of the screen? I didn't do much experiment…
My Ideas for a Third Endless Ocean Game
So for anyone who clicked on this, expecting a fully fleshed out idea for a third entry in this woefully underrated, cult classic franchise, I'm sorry to disappoint. I don't have any complete ideas for a new game, but here are some small nuggets and concepts I'd like to see should this series continue.
I will definitely be updating this whenever new ideas come to mind, so be sure to check back every so often!

Endless Ocean maps part 6
Hello again. This is probably going to be the last one of these I’ll make in a while. At least until I can think of new places to go. For now this will focus on the eastern coastline of the Pacific, from the Galapagos to the Bay of California. The waters here are yet another interesting mix of cold water and warm water mixed together; bands of warm water flowing in from warmer parts of the Pacific are known as El Niño (Spanish for The Boy) while bands of colder water from the Antarctic and Arctic are known as La Niña (The Girl). Both the Bay of California and the Galapagos are biosphere hot spots with some of the most unique wildlife in the world. A few returning faces appear here too, most notably the Marine Iguan…
Thanatos's True Size
So, we've all been wondering whether Thanatos is a Megalodon or an extra-large great white. Pages upon pages of speculation, but none of it really going anywhere until now. I originally uploaded this on the Discord, but I'll put it in a blog post as well for in-site reference.
Based off of scaling Thanatos's teeth pixel by pixel to the rest of his body, I've come up with an exact answer. The tooth I measured is 26 pixels long, from tip to gum. Assuming that a great white shark tooth will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.5 inches, and a Megalodon in the neighborhood of 7 inches, I converted both to centimeters, because the imperial system is for chumps. Then I learned there's two different ways to measure the length of a shark: fork length…
Endless Ocean custom map ideas Part 5
Welcome one and all to another addition of TheJollyScot goes crazy and rambles about stuff part 5, Electric Boogaloo. This time I’m focusing mainly on The Congo River and Shark Alley in South Africa.
Part 1: The Congo Basin
The Congo River is the second longest river in Africa, after the Nile and by discharge volume, is the second largest after the Amazon. The Congo Basin itself covers 13% of Africa and is home to the second largest rainforest in the world, the Congolese Rainforest. Home to a rich variety of plants, animals and peoples, the river itself is still a highway for many communities where there are few or no roads or railways.

Safari Game: Modern Enviornments
This is my concept for an Endless Ocean like game on land. (If Descriptions are not present for an animal, they will soon be added) Hope you enjoy.
A well-known and diverse ecosystem, the Savannahs of Central Africa are the most diverse Grassland Ecosystem, though this map combines several distinct savannahs with slightly different fauna. In addition to the main plains, this map includes swamp and semi-desert areas.
Carnivore Mammals
-African Leopard: One of the 5 living big cats and the 'Big 5' African Mammals, and the most adaptable, with populations from South Africa to China. Vulnerable.
-African Lion: The apex predator of the Savannah, as well as one of the 5 big cats and 'Big 5' African Mammals, Lions are the only one to usually live in …
Expansion: Prehistoric Waters
This is my idea for a prehistoric expansion of Endless Ocean (I never was able to play the original, so this is based on Blue World). Feel free to offer suggestions, as I will expand this idea over time.
(EDIT 10/18/23: I made this quite a long time ago, and while I still love the concept, I will admit my writing has vastly improved since then. While this version is being kept up for archival purposes, I am working on a full reboot with better descriptions and even more animals, plus various other fun things, found here: User blog:Pigmanpower/Prehistoric Waters Expansion (Version 2) | Endless Ocean Wiki | Fandom)

Endless Ocean custom maps part 4
Hello and welcome to part 4 of this blog series. Yes I’m still cranking them out despite a huge gap between the last one. I apologise for that, I wasn’t feeling my best and was just not in the right mindset for a while. But anyways we’re back and this time with two new maps, a freshwater river map and a coldwater marine map; a fictional tropical Asian river and coastal waters around Celtic countries such as Wales, Scotland and Ireland. In addition there will be a few refinements to the aquarium.
Map 1 Southern Asia
The Asian rivers are a mixture of river systems from India, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and other South-East Asian countries. These rivers range from wide and sluggish to fast rapids and encompass …
The Future of the Endless Ocean Wiki
Hello, denizens of the Endless Ocean Wiki!
As many of you who frequent here may have noticed, the Wiki has been undergoing some drastic changes these past three or four months, since I became an admin. These efforts, contributed to by my fellow active editors Nocturnalia, Missingno74 and Jeffrey0409, have been large-scale edits of the Wiki to re-structure, re-organize and re-decorate the Wiki to fit both modern standards and the changes Wikia has been undergoing in terms of advanced editing software in recent years. I like to dub this period, since I began editing here earlier this year, the "Endless Rework".
In large part, these edits have been on an on-and-off basis, with some days bringing huge swathes of edits as part of a collaborative e…
Endless Ocean Map ideas 3.
Welcome to Endless Ocean maps part 3. This will be focusing mainly on a map based on waters around the Japanese islands, specifically the tropical Ryukyu islands for coral reefs and like the Australian map before, some colder water species. There will be a lot of other creatures here already in the game, such as the Yatabei Blenny and Yellow Goosefish. Also at the end will be some suggested additions for the Cortica River map as well some odds and ends.
For the Japanese map I have also decided to make another area inside a cave, sort of like the Mermaid’s Grotto in the first Endless Ocean game. This will be home mainly to a bewildering array of Cardinalfish and other cave dwelling animals. So with that in mind let’s jump in.
1. Starting off …
Endless Ocean Custom Map ideas. 2
Welcome back to my suggestions for Endless Ocean maps, part 2. For part two I have picked two Pacific locations, one is warmly temperate, based on the waters around Oceania, both brackish and marine. The other is tropical, the waters of Hawaii. I’ll also have a few extra additions to the Zahhaba region and other marine maps in general. As per usual there will be a few liberties, so don’t expect a 100% accurate list...more like 95%.
We’ll start off with Hawaii. This island is rich in both terrestrial and aquatic, despite numerous extinctions and introduction of invasive species, many of the islands native species have recovered over the years due to conservation projects. Many species found Hawaii can also be found elsewhere, such as the Yel…

Endless Ocean Custom Map ideas 1.
Endless Ocean map ideas.
Hello everyone. It sadly seems that Endless Ocean is a bit of a dead franchise, despite having a tonne of potential and strong fan following. I thought it would be interesting therefore to discuss what kinds of maps we as fans would include if they had the chance to create their own game or an add on to one of the existing ones if it was possible. Feel free to post your ideas in the comments
For my list I’d mainly focus on adding to freshwater maps, some more varied coral reefs and depths environments and also changing a bit on the Mediterranean Ciceros strait. I love the Ciceros Straits but many species of fish there aren’t native and I think its a shame to neglect many of the interesting native populations.
Without …

Is there a Discord Server I should be aware of?
Title. Was just wondering as it'll be easier to communicate. Not like it matters too much, editing on this wikia is dead.

All of the Coins have been catalogued!
SO. It's been a laborious project, but FINALLY every single one of the one hundred Constellation Coins has been listed and given a page of its own! I've been doing the majority of the coins, but a few people had done several of the coin's pages before I was even a part of this Wikia. I'm also grateful to the person who created the page in the first place so that I had a way to check on wether the coin I was editing had a page of its own or not. It was time-consuming, but it was also fun to learn about the constellations on these coins as I was adding trivia about them. What I usually did was writing the page's content on a seperate document and then transferred it to the coin's page in order to prevent the page crashing before I was finish…
Mantis Shrimp
What if they added the Peacock Mantis Shrimp in the next game, if there were one? That would be pretty cool, I think, especially if they made it one of the more dangerous creatures, considering how the shrimp can't be kept in aquariums because it will crack the glass. Considering how small the shrimp is, however, what if they added a dangerous creatures mechanic for zoom-mode patches? For instance, stroking a poisonous or spined would take a bit of your air away, or even if they added a health mechanic, or a poison mechanic.
Dunno, just a thought.
yo!
First, we need to make sure all pages have the same format. We can do this by clicking random page and making sure every page we land on has the same format.*
Secondly, all images should be 300+ pixels.*
Use slideshows instead of galleries.

Stone Monument Legend?
In the first game, there's an Atoll known as Marige Atoll (Mo'ia Atoll in the American version) that has six randomly scattered stone tablets that seem to tell a story. I'm gonna attempt to peice it together as well as I can.
First, the "ancient ones" (whomever they may be) brought flooding to the "white king of the seven tribes". The king fought the flood god with the storm god by his side, proof in hand (a proof is something showing something else to be true). However, that failed, as the flooding continued anyway, compelling the king to give the "white one" a bracelet and order him to follow the prince, and give the "dark one" a gem and order him to follow the princess. The king was defeated, his city was flooded, and so his descendants …
Personal Concept
Alright, so in Endless Ocean Blue World, I found the Anomalocaris and Cameroceras side quests pretty gosh-darn fascinating. I think that if a new game is made, the storyline should be perhaps focused more on uncovering previously-extinct behemoths like the aforementioned beasts. Perhaps even the sea-serpent-like Plesiosaur could make an appearance, maybe even be the main focus of the game, but with side quests to uncover more creatures and of course the regular marine encyclopedia. The main locations and landmarks would include the inside of a long-extinct volcano, now underwater of course, a cave system similar to the Mermaid's Castle area in the first game, the usual generic deep-sea scare-your-pants-off area, and many others. Of course …
