The Dolphin Medal is a fixed salvage in Endless Ocean that is found in Blue Holes as part of the plot.

In-Game[]

Footlocker Description[]

Location[]

The Dolphin Medal can be found in Blue Holes, at coordinates L-3 and a depth of 18 meters/59 feet, atop a green table coral. A short cutscene will play before the player can pick it up that shows them exactly where it is.

Plot Relevance[]

Dolphin Medal (Salvage)

After completing their requested topographical survey of the Coral Forest area, the player will receive an email from Alfred Thorman alerting them to the existence of Blue Holes, and mentioning that it might be worth investigating. He mentions that the way the rock formations direct currents increases the potential of treasure drifting into the area.

The Dolphin Medal is the player's introduction to the salvage mechanic, as Katherine walks the player through picking it up over the radio. Picking it up triggers the arrival of a bottlenose dolphin, which must be followed to continue the plot. At the end of the dive, the Footlocker is unlocked.

The player can choose not to pick up the Dolphin Medal, but the plot will not progress until it has been collected.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being intended to act as the tutorial to picking up objects, it is possible to pick up a different salvage before the Dolphin Medal. If this happens, the introduction to salvaging will still play out, and the Footlocker will be unlocked at the end of the dive, though the player must still pick up the Dolphin Medal in order to progress the plot.
  • The text written on the Dolphin Medal does not actually read "16th Annual Drift Race Champion" as its description states; instead, it reads "GOLD MEDAL CHAMPION".
