The Okeanos's Guardian is a legendary creature found in Endless Ocean 2. It is a large, dangerous, and horribly mutated Goblin Shark bred centuries ago by the Okeanides to protect the Pacifica Treasure. It serves as the final antagonist/boss of the main plot.

Description
Trivia
Location
Endless Ocean 2
During the main story, after L&L Diving Service find the Celestial Mausoleum in the Cavern of the Gods, it enters the room along with two normal-sized goblin sharks and attacks, with the statues in the room moving to cover the exits. The player must use the pieces of the Dragon Flute to operate the mechanisms in the statue while keeping the sharks at bay. After the player has solved the puzzle, the Singing Dragons appear and drive the sharks away.
After the Cavern of the Gods is reopened, it can be seen swimming around at night with two other goblin sharks. Unless the player chooses to use the Pulsar, there is not enough time to safely focus on the Guardian and obtain its info during the main story, so coming back after the Cavern is re-opened is usually the best way to obtain its info. Its trivia is obtained by photographing it.

Introduction
GG: "Um, we have a problem. The goblin sharks are back! Man those things are nasty beasts! And look, there's a giant one!"
GG: "What?! That huge one just sealed the exit! We need to find a way out--now! Hayako! Is there anything in that mural that says how to open the door?"
Hayako: "No. But I do remember something. The Egyptian sun god, Ra, was said to change form at different times of day. He was a scarab in the morning, a falcon by day, and a ram at night."
GG: "OK... But how does that help us? Wait, look around the room! Are you supposed to do something with those statues? I have a feeling they're the key to opening the door. But you're going to have to deal with those crazy sharks first!"
Jean-Eric: "Come on, [Player]! We're counting on you!"
Shaking off Pulsar
Jean-Eric: "Isn't the Pulsar working on these sharks? We have no other options right now! Just keep trying to calm them!"
[...]
Jean-Eric: "Again?! What is it with these crazy sharks! Did the ancients appoint them as the guardians of this treasure or something?"
Behavior
The Guardian slowly swims back and forth, targeting the player to attack them whenever they swim too close. If it manages to strike, it will remove two bars of air from the player's tank, much like Thanatos. This increases the risk of a Game Over during its first encounter, as at this point in the story, the player will be unable to return to the boat, and their (likely close to empty) tank will not be refilled until after the encounter.
Like the other goblin sharks, it is able to shake off the effects of the Pulsar very quickly, which makes it a particularly difficult adversary to deal with. It is also like its base species in that it can detect the player from a further distance than most other aggressive animals, although it does have a blind spot directly above it. In addition, despite being vicious and willing to pursue the player, it will not chase them out of the room.

Notes
- It is a specimen of a unique variety of goblin shark that was bred thousands of years ago by the Okeanides to guard their temples. It is unknown if it is the sole survivor of the strain or if there is a stable breeding population hiding even deeper inside the temple. Alternatively, the Okeanides may have just bred a special recessive gene into the population of Goblin Sharks in the temple that would sometimes manifest itself in an individual of the species by causing it to mutate and grow into a massive size and grotesque shape.
- They seem to have been bred (or trained) to instinctively know how to operate the mechanism in the secret chamber, as the individual from the story is seen flipping the switch with his tail to block the characters' escape. They also appear to have been bred to instinctively fear the Singing Dragons, despite being bred for the same purpose as them.
- The Guardian's eyes appear to be just empty sockets, but they actually each contain small emerald green pupil. This pupil is much easier to see when the player examines the Guardian in the Marine Encyclopedia rather than examining the creature in the wild.
- Despite the game depicting this creature as deformed and unusual, its skin color is actually more in-line with real-life goblin sharks compared to its cronies.
- Okeanos's Guardian is one of only two legendary creatures in the game that do not give the player a title for its discovery, the other being the Singing Dragon.
- It could be argued that the Guardian serves as a nighttime "replacement" for the Singing Dragons (akin to how some other legendaries replace each other at certain times), despite not occupying the same room.
- According to Jean-Eric, the Pulsar does not work on creatures above a certain size threshold. This could potentially be the reason why the Guardian is able to shake off its effects so quickly.
- Another likely reason is simply that its partial immunity might be a result of its breeding.
- In real life, goblin sharks primarily feed on bony fishes. Given the fact that the Pillars of Shadow are infested with coelacanths, it can be assumed that this is why the Guardian and the other goblin sharks inhabit this room.
