The Striped Marlin is a large fish that appears in both of the Endless Ocean games.
"Easily recognised by its long, spear-like upper jaw, the front of its first dorsal fin is high then gradually dips towards the back.
Its ventral fins are particularly long and narrow, and there are protuberances at the base of its tail fin; these give the marlin dynamic lift when swimming.
[It Looks Like a Spear, But...]
With the ability to charge opponents at high speed, the striped marlin can deal a fatal blow even to a shark.
Normally, it doesn't use its upper jaw to stab but instead swings it violently and then captures its weakened prey. This means it is very rare to see it stab its prey."
A group of Striped Marlins can be found swimming around Deep Valley.
These fish swim about in medium-sized, loose groups., They will protest when poked or petted, and like being fed.
- The Striped Marlin, though it is not endangered, is considered near-threatened, and this is not helped by the fact that this fish is a desirable commercial game fish, due to its large size and fierce appearance.
- Though it is a common fish that is sold in supermarkets, it is not very often sourced sustainably, further threatening this fish.
